...After one phone call with Ruben, I was fully confident and booked an appointment on the spot. He even gave me helpful hints on how to help preserve the piano's lifespan. Morning of the appointment, he was on time and very professional. He tuned the piano in a timely fashion, and my daughter couldn't be more happy with the way it sounds. Ruben is the absolute best. He is the go-to guy for all our piano needs.

Ruben did a great job and I really appreciated his piano-side manner. I've got a 100+ year old piano - I know because he looked it up and wrote down the info for me - that I got at a thrift shop a decade ago. It was well below pitch and had only had one tuning many years ago. Ruben brought it up to pitch and it sounds fantastic! My professional piano-playing buddy came over and told me the same. From beginning to end, it was obvious that Ruben has lots of experience and passion for what he does. His care in explaining the parts, pointing out the wear and tear, and caring for the instrument was obvious. He was equally engaging and careful explaining temperaments and tunings, his process, and why it matters. And he did it all with plenty of humility, tailoring his answers to my familiarity, not talking past or down to me. He was equally interested and patient explaining the process again with my wife and showing my kid what he was doing. Above all, beyond his obvious technical familiarity and proficiency, Ruben's warmth, his love of music history and the science of sound shines through and makes him everything you want in a piano technician.

After a month of playing on it I am still blown away by how good it sounds and feels. I've had the piano for 25 years and it has never sounded this good. It is very inspiring to play on such a well-tuned instrument. I think you are a tuning genius and am telling all my friends about you. My Acrosonic sounds so much better! Strangely, it feels better too, I am very pleased. Also, the tuning was a very pleasant experience. I think one reason I didn't get it tuned for so long is that the previous tuner wasn't that friendly and didn't seem to like my piano very much. Your knowledge, professionalism, interest in my particular piano, and cheerfulness was all appreciated.

"Ruben is a real professional, with an obvious passion for pianos. Ours is quite old -- 70 years. He not only fixed several things on very short notice, but pointed out maintenance issues that would be easy to solve now, but much harder later. I don't think he can abide a piano not functioning to its full potential. On our first meeting, he showed evidence of an integrity and concern that is rare in any business, but particularly one in which the customer is often at such a disadvantage regarding knowledge and the ability to notice problems. Pianos are complicated instruments, and Ruben not only has the technical competence to maintain them well, but the integrity and communication skills to deal honestly and proficiently with customers.
